The Madness Remains

Mark Gosney

Mark, in the mid 80’s had the opportunity to take guitar lessons from Shrapnel Recording Artist Joey Taffola. Joey taught him the meaning of good technique, i.e. not just how to play fast but how to use it as another tool to express yourself musically. Following this he and Mitch Davis created the original progressive rock band Crimson Bond which recorded and produced nearly two albums of originals, and was together for many years. Over the years since he has played in various cover bands such as, The Classic Hawks, Them Changes, Hari Kari, and various tribute bands that focused on the music of Bon Jovi, and Van Halen. More recently he has been working on a degree in music composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

His early guitar influences were Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmstten, Vinnie Moore, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch, and more recently John Petrucci.  Most of the monster players over the recent years.  Mark has been enjoying the school experience and working on some new styles of music more specifically orchestral music for film, TV, and games.  He is also working on some new guitar instrumental music that should be out in the next few months.  You can listen to some of his orchestral music on or his website

Mark exclusively uses Mesa Boogie amps & cabs, Kemper Amps for preamping, signal processing and effects, and plays Music Man Ernie Ball John Petrucci Signature Series, Carvin/Kiesel, and Fender guitars.
